  • Primary Specialty:
    Physician Assistant
  • PA for Dr. Russell S. Petrie

Biography

Karri is a Physician Assistant for Dr. Russell S. Petrie and joined NOI in 2016. She assists Dr. Petrie in surgery and conducts physical exams, diagnoses medical conditions, orders and interprets diagnostic tests, writes prescriptions, develops operative and non-operative treatment plans and performs image-guided injections. She received her Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies from Oregon Health & Science University and is a fellow member of the Academy of Physician Assistants, California Academy of Physicians Assistants and Physician Assistants in Orthopedic Surgery.

Karri grew up playing basketball, softball, and field hockey, and joined the women's crew team in college. Now her main activities involve hauling her kids to and from school, or to soccer or swim practice.

As a high school and collegiate athlete, Karri enjoyed sports and envisioned herself working with athletes. She started her career as a division I collegiate athletic trainer (ATC) and spent eight years taking care of athletes in various sports. She was introduced to the physician assistant profession through the head team physician and made the decision to return to graduate school for her medical degree. Because of her background as an ATC, orthopedic surgery was a natural fit. After completing school, Karri received her National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
